UPDATE NO. 6 (4:30 p.m. ET): This thing is tightening up!

Pat Perez chips in for birdie at 14 to move to 13 under … and he’s within one of Shubhankar Sharma, who is on No. 13. Mickelson misses a good birdie look at 18 but still posts a 6-under 65 to get in at 11 under, good for T-3.

UPDATE NO. 5 (3:58 p.m. ET): Justin Thomas makes birdies at Nos. 6 and 7, and then closes with a pair of pars. That gives him a 9-under 62, a new course record. He rockets from T-38 to T-5 at 9 under overall with that scorching round.

UPDATE NO. 4 (3:10 p.m. ET): Sharma drains a 15-footer at No. 6 for birdie to move to 14 under. That gives him a four-shot lead.

Phil Mickelson is one of those in a tie for second at 10 under after he drives the par-4 12th green and makes birdie.

UPDATE NO. 3 (2:10 p.m. ET): Shubhankar Sharma is really showing he’s not intimidated early.

Birdies at Nos. 1 and 3 move him to 13 under, and he now leads by three. Sergio Garcia is solo second at 10 under. Phil Mickelson is tied for third at 9 under thanks to a 4-under-through-eight start.

Justin Thomas just eagled No. 1 (his 10th) after driving it to the back fringe at the par 4 and draining a mid-range putt from there. He’s now 6 under for the round and overall.

UPDATE NO. 2 (1 p.m. ET): Two early birdies for Phil Mickelson. He grabs them at the first and third to move to 7 under. He’s now just four back.

UPDATE NO. 1 (12 p.m. ET): The third round is underway.

The final groups aren’t off more another hour-plus. So far, nothing too crazy in Round 3. Players on the course are only through three holes at most. So far, best round is 1 under.
